Purbo Poona Durgotsav, Hadapsar
Organized by Poona Bango Sanmilani’s Kalibari of Hadapsar, this is the 15th year of the popular Durga Puja Pandal, so expect some special celebrations. The organizers add a nice and heavy Bengali touch to the proceedings, and you can also feast on some kathi rolls and fish chops while here, along with the free bhog. Nandanik, Koregaon Park
A popular Durga Puja Pandal, this one has been organized for 11 years now, with beautiful decoration and a well-adorned Durga idol on display every year. You also have the Anandomela, a line of food stalls and handicraft shops where you get the best of Bengali cuisine and culture. There are cultural events and contests, folk song and dance performances, and more as well. This year it will be held at the Rohi Villa Palace from September 25 to 30. Idol of goddess Durga in a Durga Puja Pandal
The Anandam Association will organizing Durga Puja prayers and rituals as well as extensive cultural programs, including a children’s play, the traditional dance form of Dhunuchi Nritya, a drawing competition and much more. Paschim Pune Bangiya Parishad
For those who are in and around Baner, Pune, there is the Durgotsav 2017 event organized by the Paschim Pune Bangiya Parishad. Here, you have cultural activities inspired by Rabindrasangeet and the poems of the legendary Kazi Nazrul Islam, and you also get the chance to savor some delicious homemade Bengali delicacies. The event is happening at Govinda Garden, Someshwarwadi from September 25 to 30.
Kali Bari Temple
Located in Khadki, the Kali Bari Temple dedicated to the goddess Kali is where you can head to if you want a more traditional Durga Puja. The temple celebrates Durga Puja with the traditional rituals and cultural performances, along with servings of bhog. Every year, the Chaturshringi Temple on Senapati Bapat Road celebrates Durga Puja and Navratri with a grand fair and procession, starting from the temple and ending at the gates of Pune University. You definitely need to pay a visit to this temple during the procession. Expect festivities to take place from September 26 to 30.
