If you’ve never gone on a heritage run inside a national park, there’s one happening on March 17, in India’s premier tiger reserve. Since it is an ecologically sensitive area, the run will be conducted in the buffer zone of the park.  The run is being arranged by Go Heritage Run – an award winning series of fun runs organised across India at various heritage locations, all through out the year. The runs are designed to be both a vacation and a holistic experience that help you explore the scenic beauty and cultural variety of our rich heritage. And the one happening in Pench has been chalked out into three run routes: 5km, 10km and 21km.  The run routes will start and finish at Kipling’s Court near Turia gate and will pass through small villages, past fields and through the outer forested areas of the Pench National Park. Being in the buffer area, you will only encounter monkeys, and the occasional deer and peacocks along the run route during the day.  If you wish to spot the tigers and other exotic wildlife, you will have to sign up for the famous jeep safari.

A limited number of gypsies are sent into the Pench National Park each day. You can consult your hotel to book a tiger safari for you, or you can do it online yourself.  The tiger safari happens twice a day; at sunrise (6.15 AM – 11AM) and sunset (3PM – 6PM).
