Farhan Akhtar’s second installment of the old classic remake was shot in Berlin. You can see SRK flaunting his bad boy look and attitude in the stunning backdrop of Berlin. Also shot in Malaysia, this modern film shows Shah Rukh Khan in a different light and background than the regular SRK romantic extravaganzas. Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) – Ladakh

Who can forget SRK riding a battle green Royal Enfield motorbike against the rugged terrain of Ladakh in Yash Chopra’s final project – Jab Tak Hai Jain?! As your hear SRK’s voice in the background saying “Teri aankhon ki namkeen mastiyan”, your eyes are treated to the marvellous landscapes of Jammu and Kashmir where the film was shot extensively.

Chennai Express (2013) – Dudhsagar Falls, Devikulam


Then there was Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express where SRK has you in splits with his comic timing. The film captures the breathtaking Dudhsagar Falls magnificently as the train halts near the village where Deepika’s father (Satyaraj aka Katappa from Baahubali) resides. Some songs were also shot at the beautiful Devikulam lake near Munnar and SRK’s charm only makes you fall in love with the backdrops even more.

Dilwale (2015) – Bulgaria, Iceland


While it may have tanked at the box office, SRK and Kajol’s DIlwale did a good job of giving viewers a good glimpse of Bulgaria where the movie was shot extensively. Also, who can forget the song Gerua featuring these two stalwarts posing on the famous wreckage from an old airplane crash in Iceland on Sólheimasandur black sand beach?!

Shah Rukh’s most recent film Jab Harry Met Sejal takes you through some beautiful European locales like Prague which makes sense as SRK plays a guide in this Imtiaz Ali romance. Despite the movie’s bad run at the box office, you will never forget SRK crooning “Hawayein” on a EU rail train zooming past spectacular landscapes.
