Saputara is the only hill station in Gujarat. It is on a plateau in the Dang forest area, at an altitude of about 1000 metres. Saputara literally means ‘abode of serpents.’ A shrine to serpent god on the banks of river Sarpaganga is worshipped by locals. By Air

The nearest airport from Saputara is the Surat Airport. One can hire a cab from Surat to reach Saputara.

By Rail

The nearest railway station from Saputara is Waghai railway station, which is about 50 km. This station is directly connected to Mumbai and other cities in Gujarat. Taxis are available from Waghai for Saputara. However, Bilimora would be the most convenient rail head. Bilimora is connected to Saputara by direct bus services.

By Road

Saputara is well connected with the neighboring cities of Maharashtra and Gujarat. Both state transport and private buses ply regular services to the visitors.
