Tehri Dam in the region is one of the largest hydroelectric projects in the world. The ruins of old Tehri lie underwater while the New Tehri town is set at an altitude of 1750m, overlooking the gigantic lake and Tehri Dam. The dam harnesses water of two important Himalayan rivers- Bhagirathi and Bhilangana. Other attractions in Tehri are Koti Colony and Pratap Nagar.
The nearest airport is located at a distance of around 87km from Tehri. It’s the Jolly Grant Airport also known as Dehradun Airport. Cabs are easily available from Dehradun to New Tehri.
