For anyone who’s travelled to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim till now has had to take a flight to Bagdogra Airport which is about 125 kms or roughly 4 hours drive from Gangtok. So, the inauguration of Pakyong Airport, Sikkim’s first airport, about 33 kms from Gangtok is great news for travellers. For those who’ve wanted to visit the beautiful state of Sikkim but have been putting it off due to its inaccessibility by flight, and in for a treat. And so is Sikkim, because this only means better tourism now.
Sikkim is nestled prettily in the Himalayas has has much to offer in terms of beauty. From flower parks, to numerous monasteries, to wildlife parks and shining lakes, to snow-clad mountains and hot Sikkimese food, there’s much to see and do is this state.
