Jashn-e-Rekhta, the biggest Urdu festival in the world, is a 3-day event held annually in New Delhi, that aims to celebrate the beauty and versatility of Urdu. In its fifth edition this year, that will take place from December 14 – 16, at the prestigious Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, the multi-faceted nature of Urdu will again be explored.
Every year the finest of Urdu laureates come together to celebrate the spirit and eloquence of the beautiful language. And this year will be no different. The festival is organised under the aegis of the Rekhta Foundation, a non-profit entity devoted whole-heartedly to the preservation and promotion of the Urdu language, its literature and culture. Since it’s a noble endeavour, the event is free for everyone to attend.

The event also includes splendid musical performances like ghazals and qawwalis by renowned artistes. It will offer cuisines from all over Asia and the Middle East such as Kashmiri cuisine, Bihari cuisine, Turkish delicacies, Purani Dilli chaat and much more.
