Pelling is the second biggest tourist destination in the state after Gangtok. Travellers would love to visit this place because it is not at all touristy like Gangtok and it offers breathtaking view of Khangchendzonga and the surrounding ranges. You must visit the Pemayangtse monastery which is a less than a kilometre from Pelling. Walk for around 40 minutes around the misty, scenic locales of this place and you will reach the historic Sanga Choling monastery built in 1697.

Get on NH34 in Alambazar, Baranagar from Chittaranjan Avenue/CR Avenue Road, Jatindra Mohan Ave Rd, Lock Gate Rd and Barrackpore Trunk Road. Follow NH2 to Grand Trunk Road in Bamchandaipur. Take SH 7 to NH 60. Drive along NH34. Take Shahpur-Goagaon Rd to NH31 in Dhantola. Follow NH31 and NH 31A to Melli-Nayabazar Rd in Sikkim. Follow Melli-Nayabazar Rd and Nayabazar – Legship – Reshi Rd to NH510 in Legship. Follow NH510 to Geyzing. Take Sakyong-Pelling Rd to Pelling-Rimbi Road in Pelling.

By Cab:

You need to take a train or bus from Kolkata to New Jalpaiguri. You will get many cabs from New Jalpaiguri to Pelling. They will cost around 2200 to 2800 for a one way trip.

By Bus:

You will get private and state transport buses options here. Also you could go in a train to Gangtok, Siliguri or Darjeeling and then take a connecting bus to Pelling. Also, it is advisable to rather take a Sumo rather than a bus because the road here is pretty steep.
