Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) will launch two new Mumbai Darshan tours on August 11. The tours will cover 60 locations across Mumbai and will include 43 drive-past spots and 14 sightseeing places. The Mumbai Darshan tours are being launched in association with the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), and it will be inaugurated at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The tours will have two routes. One of the tours will start from CST, which will last eight hours and 30 minutes, while the other will begin from Dadar (E) and it will last 10 hours. It will include important heritage structures like Mani Bhavan, Haji Ali Dargah, Bhau Daji Lad Museum and other tourist spots. The bungalows of Bollywood actors will also be shown during the tour. The tours will have different pick-up and drop points. It will be conducted in air-conditioned BEST buses with licensed tourist guides.

You will be able to book the tours only on weekends initially but October onwards; it will be available on a daily basis. You can book the tickets on the phone or online. You will have to pay Rs 499 for Silver package and Rs 725 for the Gold package, which will include tickets as well as express entry to temples and museums.

According to Jaykumar Rawal, State Tourism Minister, the launch of Mumbai Darshan tours is an initiative to boost the tourism. With this launch, the Tourism Ministry is aiming to revive the states tourism sector and highlight its heritage. As per Valsa Nair-Singh, principal secretary of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, this tour is a one-day itinerary and based on the demand, a three-day itinerary will be launched soon. BEST Chairman Mohan Mithbavkar said that the tours will put the BEST conditioned buses to more use and generate better revenue.
