Mumbai, the city  of dreams, never ceases to amaze. Its enchanting skyline clubbed with its vibrant nightlife make it one of the finest cities in the world. The city a melting pot of cultures, be it the people, the festivals or the food. Mumbai is home to some of the best restaurants of India and the latest addition to its crown is a floating hotel in Bandra. That’s right! Mumbai’s first private floating hotel was made open for operations on Saturday after it was launched by Maharashtra’s chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. One of the cool things about this floating hotel is that it will be open 24 hours, which is pretty characteristic of the city that never sleeps. The hotel is built on a five-deck ship named AB Celestial. It shall offer food, alcoholic beverages and room services. It also boasts of a coffee shop, a banquet hall, a dining lounge and a sky deck along with eight rooms. The ship is anchored off Bandra at the jetty under the Bandra Worli Sea Link. Having cost close to Rs 20 crore, the floating hotel is a new feather in Mumbai’s hat. The hotel had a 10-day trial run in May 2014  and has since obtained all the required permissions from relevant authorities like environment and excise. It can be expected to be bustling with activity soon as Mumbaikars are always looking for new places to eat and drink and a hotel that floats is quite difficult to resist!
