The new direct flights are a result of the Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme to offer subsidized regional connectivity. Under the UDAN scheme, flight fares are capped at Rs 2500 for one hour of flight. TruJets direct flights will take one hour to get from Bangalores Kempegowda International Airport and the Jindal Vijaynagar Airport in Vidyanagar, from where it is a 1-hour drive to Hampi. As of now, fares for these direct flights start at Rs 999. Bangalore to Hampi is not the only route being connected by TruJet. The carrier is also offering direct flights from Hyderabad starting at Rs 999 although the journey from Hyderabad to Vidyanagar takes a bit longer (75 minutes).
