Nimrat quoted the American author Mark Twain saying that the only regrets we have are the things we don’t do. I did something I’d never have dreamt of… an impromptu swim in ice cold water in the middle of nowhere. Don’t know what came over me, but it can only be good. The hike to Cheakamus Lake in Garibaldi Provincial Park is one of the easier ones in Canada and offer spectacular views of the lake that is hugged by majestic mountains and lush forests.
The path gradually heads uphill and just three km into the hike you begin to see spectacular views of the Cheakamus River.
Before long you will arrive at the north end of the lake and the first views are breathtaking to say the least. Exhibit A:
The camping area is nearby
And another four km walk along the lake towards the Singing Creek campground at the other end of the lake is another camping ground. The rocky area here offers even more beautiful views of the lake
Nimrat has been traveling a fair bit and she just took an epic six-day 3,000-km road trip from Vancouver in Canada to California in the USA.
