There are several ways to reach Shimla — you can either take a flight to Shimla airport or you could even drive from Delhi or Chandigarh making for a long yet fun road trip. Day 1

Shimla is the first place you will see in Himachal. Apart from its breathtaking hills, there are several sightseeing options in Shimla. From the Viceregal Lodge that has displays fine architecture from the British Raj to the oldest nine-hole golf course in India. Shimla’s famed Mall Road, the Jhakoo Temple and Scandal Point are other attractions of this place. If you love nature and the outdoors, you can drive down to Kufri on the same day. Day 2

One day is enough to soak in all that Shimla has to offer and you can now begin your journey to Manali. A drive from Shimla to Manali takes about 8-9 hours but the stunning view on your way will make up for the long drive. You can relax in your hotel once you reach Manali and gear up for next day’s adventure.

Day 3


Manali is one of the places that is known for its adventure sports and if you love the thrill it brings along, do try white water rafting in the Beas River. Summer is the perfect time to splash some water to cool off the heat. And if you aren’t a water baby, you can go to Solang Valley which offers other activities like zorbing, paragliding, etc. But if you don’t love adventure, Solang Valley will enthral you with its apple orchards, snow-capped peaks and lush greenery.

Day 4

Today you can visit one of the most popular tourist attractions, the Rohtang Pass and Snow Point. Peaks, glaciers, valleys and rivers will mesmerize as you drive on this pass. And if you are one of those who has never seen snow, this point is perfect for you. Go sledging in the snow or simply lie down and make snow angels. You could also indulge in a friendly snow fight. On your way back, you can visit Naggar which is home to a palace where you will find several paintings and artifacts. You can also pay a visit to the Hadimba Temple.

Day 5

Being your last day in Himachal, you could buy souvenirs for your family and friends from Mall Road and eat delicacies at quaint cafes that offer stunning views of the hills and valleys along with some delicious food. It is time to head back home today. You could take a flight from Kullu Manali airport, take a train or bus. You could even drive down.
