Most people get cold feet just by thinking about travelling with a baby but being a parent neednt stop your travel life. Karen Edward, a nurse for National Health Insurance of the UK, used her maternity leave to travel with her partner, Shaun Bayes and her 10-month-old baby, Esme. Karen is also the creator of Travel Mad Mum, an Instagram account and a website, which has over 50,000 followers. Karen and Shaun gave their flat up for rent, sold their car and started the journey when their baby was born. The trip was funded by Karens maternity pay and landscaping work done by Shaun. Baby Esme was given the travel vaccinations before the leaving for the trip and in New Zealand. The first stop was New Zealand, the birth place of Shaun. They explored New Zealand for several months and later set off for a trip back home via Asia. This seven-week trip through Asia included six nations. According to Karen, the visit to Taiwan was the best part of the trip. The country is baby-friendly, she says. Every metro station was equipped with a family room with wipes and recliners for breastfeeding. She admitted that travelling with a baby was different. Proper planning and preparation is required. Having a baby with you on a trip will slow things down. She counted Pearlshare app and Google Translate were very useful while travelling to different countries.

Karen and Shaun love travelling and want to incorporate their little daughter into their way of life. They are confident that the sound and smell of different places will stimulate her senses.
