Sonam Kapoor is all geared up for her next release Neerja which is based on late Neerja Bhanot’s life. A purser for Pan Am, this Chandigarh-born girl posthumously became the youngest recipient of the highest peacetime military award for bravery given to any Indian, the Ashok Chakra. Neerja was killed by terrorists who hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 on September 5, 1986. But her efforts did not go in vain as she saved the lives of 359 passengers on board. This brave soul was only 23 years old at that time. Though we will see Sonam Kapoor recreate Neerja’s journey of pursing her dreams and the tragic incident that led to her untimely death, this audio visual is a rare account of Neerja’s own voice. This is her last flight announcement before the tragedy and will certainly give you goosebumps even though it lasts only a few seconds.
