Bikers helping each other through water crossing

Every year, a number of road trip enthusiasts embark upon the journey to Spiti in Himachal Pradesh. The route to Spiti from Manali is considered to be one of the most beautiful routes in India. However, it is also one of the most challenging. SPiti is known for its notorious roads which are often met by gushing river crossings thanks to the melting snow during summer. This makes getting through extremely difficult for motorbikes and small vehicles. Some crossings like the infamous one called “Pagal Naala” are full of big and small stones and gravel, which are hidden by the heavy flow of water making it difficult for riders and drivers to find their way through. It is common for vehicles to get stuck here and take several minutes to pass through. Here is a video of a couple of water crossings in Spiti that gives you an idea of how challenging yet appealing this road trip is.
