Famously known for The Fort of Bidar, built in Persian style, Bidar also houses many other architectural structures and wonders such as the Gagan Mahal, Rangin Mahal, Takhat Mahal, Chaubara and Solah Khamba Mosque.

You can also enjoy shopping for various Bidri handicraft items at the Bidar market.

A few kilometres away from Hyderabad, Bidar has a rich history waiting to be explored.

4. Kurnool

210 km from Hyderabad, Kurnool is perhaps one of the best weekend getaways from the City of Pearls.

This former capital of Andhra is known for its Oravakallu rock garden and Belum, the second largest and longest cave in the Indian subcontinent.

The Rollapadu Bird Sanctuary which is about 40km from Kurnool is yet another famous tourist destination.

Hampi

The former capital of Vijayanagara, Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site housing the ancient Virupaksha Temple along with several other monuments belonging to the bygone era.

This weekend getaway, 375 kilometres away from Hyderabad, is also known for its famous Achyutaraya Temple, Badavi Linga, Malyavanta Raghunathaswamy temple and Chandramauleshwara Temple.
