1. Give your bike or car for servicing before the trip
The vehicle you will be traveling in has to be in prime condition as the roads can be bad in some areas and you wouldn’t want it to break down in the middle of nowhere. Getting help on a highway isn’t very easy and is only inviting trouble so make sure you get one round of servicing done closer to your road trip.
2. Pack in some dry snacks for the road
India is a foodie’s delight and you will get to sample different cuisines on your way. However, make sure you pack in some dry snacks so that you don’t go hungry. Something to munch on is always a good idea. Peanuts, wafers, biscuits, bars, etc are good options to have;. Don’t forget to carry a bag to dump all the wrappers once you eat these snacks to keep your car clean.

3. Carry medicine and a barf bag
If you are going on a road trip with friends, make sure you ask if someone has motion sickness. Many people feel uneasy sitting in a moving vehicle for a long time and may feel like throwing up. To prevent this, carry medicines and ask them to have it before the trip begins. And to protect your car interiors, carry a barf bag they can use in case they feel nauseated.
4. Use maps on offline mode
Unless you want to end up with an enormous mobile bill, use maps in offline mode. Download them before your trip and then use the GPS to navigate the route. Google maps gives you an option to do so. Also check out rest stops and washrooms on your way so that you can stop there at regular intervals.

5. Update your playlist
Music and road trips are a match made in heaven, they just make the experience more fun and memorable. So before you leave, don’t forget to update your playlist with the latest songs that go well for every mood.
