Ujjain Kumbh Mela is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. It is a Hindu pilgrimage in which pilgrims take a holy dip in a sacred river. Millions of Hindus will take part in Simhastha Ujjain Kumbh Mela 2016, which will start from April 22 and will go on till May 21. Kumbh Mela is held every three years at one of the four places: Ujjain, Nashik, Allahabad and Haridwar by rotation. Saints from all over India visit Kumbh Mela to take a dip in the holy water. Apart from ritual bath, you can also take part in other religious activities and attend yoga classes. Simhastha Ujjain Kumbh Mela is not like any other festival, it is believed that by taking Shahi Snaan (royal bath) one can attain Moksha (release from the cycle of death and rebirth). People from all over the country take part in this ceremony to liberate themselves from the sufferings and wash away their sins.
