Farhan Akhtar along with Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai and Purab Kohli is all set for Rock On 2, the sequel to the first one. The movie essentially revolves around the life of these people who are part of a music band called Magik. Like the first film, we can expect many soulful songs in this one too with concert scenes and performances. However, what’s different in the second edition is that you can expect to see the beauty of the state of Meghalaya. Rock On 2 has been shot in this state in places like its capital Shillong, Umniuh village in Ri Bhoi district, Cherrapunji and Laitlum. The makers had earlier decided to shoot the film in north India in Himachal but later decided to shift the location to northeast India to showcase its beauty in mainstream cinema. Like most states in northeast India, Meghalaya too is slightly off the beaten track and the roads are long and winding and in not the best condition. There aren’t direct flights here and due to these factors, not many tourists flock here. However, its popularity is growing and it is truly a spectacle of nature’s beauty. Now, with Rock On 2 featuring it, we can only expect more number of tourists wanting to visit Meghalaya. What also prompted the makers to shoot the film here was that Shillong is the rock capital of India. The actors fell in love with the beauty of the state and even made efforts to bond with the villagers to understand their culture and music and use it in the film. We still have to catch the movie but we can assure you that whether you like the film or not, you will fall in love with the landscapes of Meghalaya, just like the stars did. Here’s a sneak peek of just how beautiful the state is:
