Located about 7km from Morni Hills, Tikkar Taal boasts of two man-made lakes. Another rather important attraction here is the Gurudwara Nada Sahib. Legend has it, that Guru Gobind Singh rested here for a while going to Anandpur Sahib, making it a pious place for the Sikhs. The river flowing beside this Gurudwara and the sound of the water splashing against the rocks, makes this place nothing short of a meditative retreat. Another temple that attracts a large number of devotees is the Thakurdwara Temple. The highlight of the temple are its ancient stone sculptures, and it’s believed that the temple dates back to the time of the Pandavas.
If you’re a history buff, you’re in for a treat as well. Morning Fort – a gigantic fort sprawled at the top of Morni hills offers a gorgeous view of the whole town. It is believed to have been constructed in the 17th century; a colourful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva right adjacent to it.
