The Karaga festival is celebrated in the month of March-April. Karaga is the name given to an earthen pot, which symbolizes Shakti. It is one of the oldest and widely celebrated festivals of Karnataka, celebrated in the honour of Goddess Shakti. The celebration lasts for around 9 days starting from a full moon day of Chaitra that falls in the month of March/April.
