A quiet and tiny hamlet surrounded by charming snow-clad Himalayan Mountains, Pauri is situated 155 km from Dehradun in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Covered with deodar forests, the hill-station presents a picture of serenity unlike other more popular hill-stations. Pauri presents majestic view of the peaks of Nandadevi and Trishul.
Pauri is a famous location for adventure sports like paragliding and trekking. The trekking trail starts from Lansdowne to Pauri. Blessed with numerous temples such as Kandoliya, Kyonkaleswar Mahadeva, Nagdev, Hanumaan, Lakshmi-Narayan, etc., Pauri is also a prominent pilgrimage destination. Pauri is a good place to shop for handicrafts. Upper Bazaar, Lower Bazaar and Dhara Road are the famous shopping centers in Pauri.

There are a decent number of accommodation options available in Pauri. Most of them are budget hotels. A few mid-range and luxury hotels are also available. Dormitories, dharamshalas and rest-houses are also available in Pauri. In the outskirts of the hamlet, one can also find resorts. There are limited eating options at this place. Apart from a few street stalls near the ISBT bus stand, there are also a few restaurants serving North Indian cuisine on Mall Road. Most of the hotels in Pauri have in-house multi-cuisine restaurants.
Although Pauri can be visited anytime of the year, it tends to get extremely cold during December- February with temperature falling below zero. Summers in Pauri are pleasant. March- November is the best time to visit Pauri.
