Place Details:
Sinquerim Beach is considered one of the best in Goa, and that is not an easy feat to achieve in a state with more than 50 beaches. Located just around 13 km from the capital city of Panaji, Sinquerim is considered the first tourist beach in North Goa. The beautiful beach lies south of other famous North Goan beaches like Candolim, Calangute and Baga. You can spend hours hear lying on the soft sand, swimming in the ocean water or going windsurfing, scuba diving, fishing, water skiing and parasailing. If you are visiting Goa for the first time, Sinquerim Beach is a good place to head to for a good time. The beach lies next to Aguada Beach, and you can spot the famed Aguada Fort form the beach as well. The fort was crucial during the Portuguese rule, defending the colony from attacks from sea.
Given its popularity, Sinquerim beach has plenty of hotels and resorts lined behind it to suit all kinds of budget requirements, though you may not find really cheap accommodation here. Plenty of good restaurants serve delicious Goan cuisine, and you can also find plenty of buses, motorcycles and taxis available to the beach. Despite its popularity, Sinquerim is a pretty small beach. It lies at the southern edge of the Calangute-Candolim stretch of beaches. The bastion of the lower Aguada fort here splits the beach into two parts, and you can get an incredible view of the sea from the lower fort that juts out into the beach.
