Losar is the Tibetan word for “new year.” Losar is celebrated for 15 days, with the main celebrations on the first three days. It often falls on the same day as the Chinese New Year. Its is considered as the most important Buddhist festival and is also known as the Tibetan New Year. The festival usually lasts for 15 days but the first 3 days of the festival are said to be the most important.
