About 32 km away, it is located on the left bank of Spiti River. The fort was built to keep an eye on enemies and offers unhindered views of the Spiti Valley. Dhankar’s old temple is known as Lha-O-pa Gompa. The gompa is built like a fortress in the district of Lauhal and Spiti in India.
