Place Details:
Built by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula in 1784, it is also known as the Asafi Imambara. It is believed to have been built to generate employment during the famine of 1784. The central hall is said to be the world’s largest vaulted chamber. A staircase from outside the Imambara leads to a series of mazes or bhool bhulaiyya. The Imambara also houses a mosque.
