Vandiyur Mariamman Temple is a temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess of rain, Mariamman. The temple is located at around 3km from the Meenakshi Amman temple. The temple is popular for huge pond, Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam, and its festival. This pond, which was built in 1645 AD, is the largest tank in Tamil Nadu. It is believed that the 7 foot tall Mukuruny Vinayakar idol of the Meenakshi Amman temple was found during the excavation of this pond.

Mariamman Teppakulam is popular for the Float festival, which is celebrated in a colorful way in the in the month of Thai according to Tamil calendar (January 14th to February 15th).
