The Juhu beach is located in the very elite western suburb of Juhu. Several centuries back, when Mumbai was actually seven islands, Juhu was a part of one of the islands that now forms the city. Lined by the Arabian sea, Juhu is home to one of the country’s finest theatres, the Prithvi Theatre, along with being home to various Bollywood celebrities, the most famous among them being Amitabh Bachchan, whose house, Jalsa is located in this suburb! 30 ft long whale washes ashore at Mumbai’s Juhu Beach
Juhu beach becomes one of the busiest places in the city during Chhath Puja and during the Ganesha Visarjan, when people from across the city visit the beach to immerse idols of Ganesha in water at the end of the 11-day festival. On other usual days, the beach is full of people out on evening walks, some sitting by the shore to watch the sun go down and some other s who’re on a picnic with friends and family. The beach is also lined by a number of vendors selling chaat and fast-food, that will give you a glimpse of Mumbai’s street-food scene! The other famous and frequented beach in Mumbai is known as the Girgaon Chowpatty.
