Place Details:
Leopold Cafe is located in Mumbai‘s southernmost district, Colaba. The cafe was established in 1871 and over the years has become one of the most iconic cafes in South Bombay. While most people who visit the Leopold Cafe are shoppers who grab a bite here after shopping at the Colaba Causeway and some stop by after they’ve visited the Gateway of India.
Several people also visit the cafe for the fact that Gregory David Roberts spent a good amount of his time in Mumbai at this very cafe. Leopold Cafe gained popularity in the city especially after the writer published his book Shantaram in 2003. Another reason plenty of people want to visit the cafe is, the bullet marks left on walls of Leopold that remind people of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai.
