The Nehru Planetarium, a part of the Nehru Centre was established in 1977. It is located in Worli, in the heart of Mumbai, and is one of the most advanced planetariums in the country. Not only can you visit the planetarium for astronomic shows, but there is a library, an art gallery and regular exhibitions that attract astronomy enthusiasts through the year.

While most people assume that this place is meant for kids, specifically school students,there are various aspects of the Nehru Centre that seem lucrative to adults as well. One of the most interesting sections being the Discovery of India which explains the changes in India through historic events and architecture.
The planetarium also hosts various competitions through the year, from elocutions and debates to writing essays and reports and quizzes that work around building a scientific temper among people. Either before or after your visit to the Nehru planetarium, you could also visit the Worli Sea-Face and watch the sun go down as the Bandra-Worli Sea Link lights up and looks simply stunning all the way through dusk.
