Colaba Causeway is definitely a street shoppers’ paradise! It is one of the best street shopping destinations in Mumbai and as the name suggests, it is located in South Bombay’s Colaba area, with Navy Nagar to the south, Fort to the north, Cuff Parade to the east and the Gateway of India. Shaheed Bhagawt Singh is the official name of this street and it is one of the ideal places to spend a leisurely weekend in Mumbai.

If you’re traveling to Colaba Causeway from the CST station, once you cross the Jehangir Art Gallery in Kala Ghoda followed by the National Gallery for Modern Arts or the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, you’ll reach Regal Cinemas from where the causeway street begins. For all the shoppers in town, one km south of Cafe Mondegar is was promenade that ensures total bliss. From clothes and accessories to antique and vintage keepsakes that will make you want to linger around at least for a bit. Leopold Cafe lies on this very street. In fact, just one lane behind the causeway is the iconic Bademiyah kebab corner which is usually crowded with shoppers trying out some of their special tandoori dishes.
Though just about a few hours may seem sufficient for a trip to Colaba, at the end of your day, you’ll probably feel like you’ve left something out and will make sure you pick another date for another trip soon! It is one of the many places in South Bombay that has its own personality that you take back with you!
