Situated between two rocky hillocks on the Alibaug–Murud road, Nagaon beach is one of the finest beaches in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. Located about 10 km from Alibaug, the beach is a popular weekend getaway from both Mumbai and Pune.
It is known for its clear waters, white sand and casuarina groves that line the shore. Nagaon Beach is also perfect for surfing with waves rising as high as six feet almost through the year.

If you are lucky, you can also spot dolphins in Nagaon from November to January. Nagaon is not as commercially popular as most other beaches in the state. Most tourists stop over at Nagaon en route Alibag or Murud.
The wildlife sanctuary of Phansad, the marine fort of Janjira and the coastal forts of Korlai, Alibag and Revdanda are situated close by. Winters are the best time of the year to visit the beach.

There are many accommodation options near the beach with several budget and mid-range resorts and guesthouses. It is advisable to book in advance. Renting out villas and cottages is a good option if you’re traveling in a group.

There are several multi-cuisine restaurants which serve Indian and Chinese. There are also local food stalls serving poha, missal pav and other snacks. Seafood lovers will enjoy the local cuisine as most of the restaurants serve fish preparations.
