Pench National Park is one of the most prominent national parks in India. Known for its diverse wildlife and its southern topical dry deciduous forest, Pench National Park spreads across parts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. It is located at a distance of 70 km from Nagpur and lies on the border of the two states Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. It is named after the river Pench which divides the park into two parts.
The Pench National Park covers an area of 257.26 sq km. It comes under the Project Tiger network for special reserves. While tiger spotting is one of the main reasons for tourists to visit Pench, it is also home to various other animals like panther, gaur, sambar, chital, barking deer, , bear, wild boar, blue bull, macaque, langoor, wild dogs and civet cat.
