Place Details:
Located at a distance of 3 km from Manali, Vashist is a small village on the banks of Beas River. It is said that this is where sage Vashist meditated. The village is home to revitalizing sulphur springs which have medicinal properties and is believed to cure several skin allergies and other infections. There are separate baths for women and men. People flock to Vashist village to soak in the hot spring and its rich history. As per a legend, an agni vaan was fired by Laxman from Ramayana to the ground and hot sulphur water began to spring out. The sulphur ponds surrounded by lush greenery and deodar trees is a treat for the eyes. The village also has many modern baths outfitted with Turkish-style showers.

The village also has a Vashist temple and a Ram temple. Near Vashist temple, there is a market, which has several shops selling Tibetan jewellery, Himachali shawls and artistic handicrafts. The market is the perfect place for holiday shopping and to buy souvenirs. Vashisht is a refreshing destination with a stunning backdrop of the majestic Himalayas.
