Pari Mahal, which means ‘faries’abode,’ is a majestic seven terraced garden situated at the top of Zabarwan Mountains over-looking the South-West part of Dal Lake and the Srinagar city. Pari Mahal is just five-minute drive from the beautiful Cheshma Shahi Gardens.

The monument in the garden is an example of art and architecture during the reign of Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor. The structure is surrounded by the alluring garden. Pari Mahal was built in the mid-1600s by Mughal Prince Dara Shikoh. It served as a house and a library. It was also used as an observatory for teaching astronomy and astrology.
