Place Details:
It is the burial chamber of Tipu Sultan, his father Hyder Ali and mother Fatima Begum. The tomb is built on an elevated platform with tombs of other relatives circling Tipu Sultan’s tomb. There are beautiful ebony doors that are decorated with ivory presented by Lord Dalhousie. The interior walls are covered with Tiger stripes which were Tipu’s favourite. There is a mosque next to the Gumbaz and a magnificent garden surrounds the tombs.
