Believed to have been built by king Vikramaditya, the Harsiddhi temple is dedicated to the goddess worshiped by the mighty king. Legend has it that the elbow (kurpara) of a goddess fell at the spot where the temple stands. In the temple, the idol of Annapurna is seated between those of Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati. Some locals and devotees also believe that the temple was built by Lord Vishnu himself. The temple was originally situated on a hill-top facing the sea.

Marks of Maratha architecture are dominant on the temple proving that it was reconstructed by the Marathas during their reign. The temple has two pillars with provisions for lamps which exemplify Maratha art. There is also an ancient well in the temple complex.
