Place Details:
Located about 50 km from Ukhimath, Gaurikund is the starting point of the 14 km trek to Kedarnath. The place is named after Goddess Parvati and a temple dedicated to Gauri (a form of Parvati) stands at the site. It is believed that Lord Shiva agreed to marry Goddess Parvati at this place. The place consists of various hot springs which have been turned into bathing places.
