Place Details:
The Warangal fort is believed to have been constructed in the 13th century. Historians and archaeologists believe that an earlier brick-walled structure was replaced with stone by Ganapatideva and that his successors – Rudramadevi and Prataparudra – added to its height and added gateways, square bastions and additional circular earthern walls. Remnants of the structure can be seen near the city. The Archaeological Survey of India has listed the remains as a monument of national importance.
