Lok Sabha Election 2024: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi faced a familiar question during a poll rally in family bastion Rae Bareli. “Shaadi kab kar rahe ho (when are you getting married?)”, yelled someone from the crowd as the Gandhi scion was addressing a public meeting in Rae Bareli for the first time since he filed his nomination from the seat.

“Ab jaldi karni padegi (will have to get married soon now)” Rahul Gandhi quipped in response to the question with a warm smile on his face.

As soon as the Congress MP ended his address, he called up his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to the front of the dais, put his hand on her shoulder and fondly caressed her face, expressing his gratitude and appreciating her efforts in the Rae Bareli campaign.

“I am touring different parts of the country in the election and my sister is spending time here, a big thanks to her for this,” Rahul Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi then asked him to answer that familiar question about his marriage plans somebody from the crowd had asked.

After a few moments as he tried to find out what the question was, Gandhi assured it will have to be soon now. “Ab jaldi karni padegi,” the Congress leader replied.
