Caught On Cam: 6-Year-Old Girl Attacked By German Shepherd Dog In Ghaziabad Society, FIR Filed Against Owner

Ghaziabad: In a shocking incident at the Ajnara Integrity Housing Society in Ghaziabad, a six-year-old girl named was attacked by a German Shepherd while riding her cycle. The CCTV footage captured the terrifying moment when the dog bit Vanya Chauhan, , while the owner struggled to control the animal despite being restrained by a leash.  Thanks to the quick response of her mother, Namita Chauhan, Vanya managed to escape more severe injuries. The footage showed Namita seeking help from a security guard, who intervened and communicated with the dog’s owner. Subsequently, Namita swiftly carried her daughter away from the scene, ensuring her safety.

The video shows Vanya riding her bike when the dog charged at her. At that moment, the girl’s mother Namita Chauhan rushed to her rescue and prevented the dog from causing further harm to her daughter. Vanya, as seen in the CCTV camera footage, leaves her bike and runs away to save herself.

Many children were seen walking within the housing society where the incident occurred.

Vanya Chauhan suffered injuries to her hands and waist from the dog’s bites and scratches. The severity of the situation prompted Namita to file a complaint against the dog’s owner under Section 289 of the Indian Penal Code, citing negligence on the owner’s part. The complaint also stated that the dog was not wearing a muzzle as well.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ravi Kumar confirmed that a case had been registered based on the complaint, leading to an investigation. Chauhan emphasized the importance of residents’ safety and requested the removal of the dog from the society premises. She is seeking the removal of the dog from the society premises citing safety of residents.
