Holi 2024: Stones Pelted, Shots Fired In Clash Over Loud Music In UP’s Pilibhit; 4 Injured
Shots were fired in Katakwara village of Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh on Holi day following an argument between two parties over playing loud music.
Holi 2024: At least four people sustained injuries, one of them receiving a bullet, after clashes erupted between two groups of people following a dispute over playing of loud DJ music during Holi celebrations in a village of Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
According to the police, shots were fired in the Katakwara village on Holi day following an argument between two parties over playing loud music. A police officer said one person received a bullet injury while three others were injured in a stone-pelting incident, which erupted in the village following the dispute.
Circle Officer of Bisalpur Vishal Chaudhari said the firing took place in the Barkhera police station area.
He said the two sides fought over loud music being played in the area.

“Stone-pelting was also reported during the incident in Katakwara village in which three others were injured,” the officer said.
The officer identified the man injured in the firing incident as Vimal, while Ankit, Satyapal and Vinod were injured in stone-pelting.
Giving details, the officer said the two sides are loyalists of the present village head and a former village head, and are involved in a long-standing rivalry.
Police have registered a case in this connection under relevant sections of the law, he said, adding that the matter is being investigated.
