Since 2020, the Ministry of Home Affairs has been regularly seeking extensions from the parliamentary committees to continue the process of framing the rules associated with the legislation.
New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has given its consent to change the names of two places – Mundera Baazar municipal council in Gorakhpur and Telia Afghan village in Deoria district – in Uttar Pradesh, following recommendations from the state government.
The Home Ministry issued no-objection certificates (NOC) to change the name of the municipal council to Chauri-Chaura and that of the village to Telia Shukla, as per the MHA sources.
MHA gives a no-objection certificate to change the name of any place after taking consent from the Ministry of Railways, Department of Posts and the Survey of India. Meanwhile, for changing the name of a village, town or a city, an executive order is needed.
