A 75-year-old satsang sevadar was arrested in Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly raping two 13-year-old girls and impregnating one of them.

Uttar Pradesh Rape: In a shocking incident, a 75-year-old man serving as a ‘sevadar’ at a satsang bhawan in a village in Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for allegedly raping two underaged girls on multiple occasions one of whom became pregnant which brought the case to light.

According to the police, the accused, Mohan Lal, who worked as a ‘sevadar’ at a satsang bhawan in the Syana police station area, allegedly raped two girls, both aged 13, both residents of the same village.

A senior police official said that Mohan Lal used to give some type of medicine to the girls which made them lose consciousness, allowing him to sexually violate the two minors while they were in an unconscious state.

The incident came to light when one of the victims became pregnant and upon being questioned, told her parents that the accused had raped her on multiple occasions, following which the families of the two girls lodged separate complaints with the police.

“FIRs were registered on Wednesday based on complaints lodged by the families of the two girls. The accused was arrested the same day,” said Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Shankar Prasad, adding that the accused confessed to the crime during interrogation.

The officer said that the girls have been sent to the district hospital for medical examination, while Lal is in custody and will be produced before a court soon.

Citing police sources, a PTI report said the sevadar, Mohan Lal, used to give the girls some type of sedative which made them unconscious and raped them. The matter came to came to light after the family of one of the girls found out that she was pregnant, and upon questioning, told told her parents that Lal had raped her several times.
