Ballia Rape: In a shocking incident, two minor boys, aged around seven to eight years, were detained by the police for allegedly raping and assaulting a 7-year-old girl in a village of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh. According to the police. the crime took place on Friday afternoon in the Ballia’s Kotwali area when the two boys lured the girl to a secluded area where they gang-raped her.
The juveniles also allegedly assaulted the 7-year-old victim, police said, adding that both boys have been detained and booked under relevant sections of the law applicable to juvenile offenders.
A senior official said the incident came to light when the girl returned home after the sexual assault, and complained of ill health following which her family rushed her to the district hospital on Saturday where doctors told them that she had been raped.
“A police team reached the Ballia district hospital after receiving information about the incident late on Saturday. The girl has been shifted to Varanasi for advanced medical care,” said Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Veer, according to news agency PTI.

The officer said that based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, a case has been registered against the juvenile offenders juvenile offenders under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Further investigation in the case is underway, he added.
