Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest is a major blow to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) specially ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections. While AAP hopes to gain sympathy votes, while its rivals believe that Arvind Kejriwal’s potential arrest could benefit them.
In the recent development, Kejriwal issued a second order from ED custody. He did not look discouraged as he issued a second order on Tuesday from the ED custody, asking health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj to address the shortage of medicines and diagnostic tests at mohalla clinics and hospitals.
The second order was issued just a day before the Delhi High Court was set to hear Arvind Kejriwal’s plea against his arrest. This arrest is linked to suspected irregularities in Delhi’s excise policy, which has since been canceled. Meanwhile, officials at Delhi’s Tihar Jail discussed the possibility of Kejriwal being sent there once his custody with the ED ends.
Now let’s just discuss what is next for Varun Gandhi?
Well on Tuesday Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury invited BJP leader Varun Gandhi to join the Congress after the outspoken lawmaker from Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit was denied a ticket for the Lok Sabha polls.

He praised Gandhi’s leadership and clean image, suggesting the BJP denied him a ticket due to his Gandhi family connection. Jitin Prasada has replaced Varun Gandhi as the BJP’s nominee from Pilibhit. Prasada, who switched from the Congress to the BJP in 2019, won a seat in the Uttar Pradesh assembly in 2021.
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav said his party welcomes everyone. When asked about Varun Gandhi not getting a BJP ticket, he maintained that SP’s doors are open for all. Bhagwat Saran Gangwar, the SP’s candidate for Pilibhit, stated that he would gladly step aside for Varun Gandhi if the party decides to nominate him. Pilibhit is scheduled to vote in the first phase on April 19, and March 27 is the last day for nominations for this phase.
