Bangladesh faces a political crisis after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation amid violent protests. Hasina fled to India, and President Shahabuddin has approved forming an interim government. The Bangladeshi Army Chief announced this interim government will be set up soon. Khaleda Zia, recently released from jail, and Dr. Muhammad Yunus are key figures in discussions about who will lead. Army Chief Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman will meet student leaders proposing Yunus as interim leader.
