Over the past few days, Bangladesh has been experiencing widespread protests and unrest where some reports indicated that the protests began due to political tensions, but this concerning situation quickly escalated into violent clashes between demonstrators and security forces.
On Thursday, angry protestors set fire to the main office of Bangladesh Television (BTV), which is supported by the government. The state broadcaster confirmed this on Facebook and said “There’s a huge fire at BTV. It’s spreading fast. We need the Fire Service’s help where many people are stuck inside.” They also mentioned, “Hundreds of protesters set fire to the reception building.”
