In a recent development in Bangladesh that has garnered significant attention over job quotas nationwide. There were recent violent events in Bangladesh, causing many Indians to choose to come back home.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Over 4,500 students from India have come back home, along with 500 students from Nepal, 38 from Bhutan, and one from the Maldives have returned from violence-affected Bangladesh. He also mentioned that the Indian embassy in Dhaka is arranging security escorts for Indians to travel safely to the land border crossings.

Meanwhile the Indian embassy in Bangladesh, along with its offices in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, and Khulna, regularly communicates with Bangladeshi authorities to make sure that Indian citizens are safe and secure.

Earlier, On Friday the external affairs ministry said there are approximately 15,000 Indians currently in Bangladesh, and among them, about 8,500 are students still in Bangladesh.

Hours after West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said on Sunday that she was ready to offer shelter in her state to people from Bangladesh facing difficulties, it was noted that decisions like these are typically managed by the central government of India.
While she also stated that “I shouldn’t talk about what’s happening in Bangladesh because it’s their country’s business. The central government handles these matters but I want to say, if people in need come to Bengal, we will definitely give them a place to stay,” said Mamata Banerjee at a rally in Kolkata hosted by her party, Trinamool Congress.
